About the Authors

Sparky Imeson is the author of the Mountain Flying Bible and one of aviation's most respected mountain flying authorities. Born and raised in Jackson, Wyoming at the base of the Grand Teton range, Sparky began flying in 1966 and co-founded Imeson Aviation at the Jackson Hole Airport in 1968. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, a Gold Seal Flight Instructor Certificate, and has accumulated more than 20,000 logged flight hours — the majority in small aircraft in mountainous terrain across the United States, Canada, Alaska, Mexico, and South America. He is a three-time FAA Flight Instructor of the Year for the Northwest Mountain Region and an FAA Accident Prevention Counselor since 1971.
