Lightspeed Headsets

Find Lightspeed aviation headsets for your flying at Pilot Shop New Zealand. The range includes Sierra, Zulu 3, Zulu 4 and Delta Zulu models, combining active noise reduction with features designed for communication and comfort in the cockpit. Whether you are choosing your first personal headset or upgrading an existing setup, compare fit, connectivity, power options and aircraft compatibility alongside the features you will use on every flight.

Lightspeed ANR headsets use active noise reduction to reduce low-frequency cockpit noise. Ear seal fit and headband comfort also matter, particularly when wearing glasses or flying for longer periods. Sierra offers ANR, Bluetooth and a reversible headband, while Zulu 3 combines stainless steel and magnesium construction with tapered ear seals and Kevlar-cored cables. Zulu 4 adds FrameFit ear seals, dual multipoint Bluetooth and Bluetooth vocal isolation for outgoing calls.

For pilots comparing additional monitoring and audio personalisation features, the Lightspeed Delta Zulu includes built-in carbon monoxide detection and HearingEQity personalised audio. Its hearing profile setup uses the Lightspeed app to tailor sound to the individual user. Review the product details for device compatibility, initial setup requirements and how the headset’s alerts and audio functions operate before choosing your model.

Choosing the correct plug configuration is essential. The fixed-wing headsets in this collection use dual GA plugs, helicopter versions use a single U-174 plug, and LEMO versions use a six-pin connection for aircraft panel power. Selected Lightspeed models are offered in each configuration. Confirm the sockets, intercom compatibility and power supply in the aircraft you fly rather than choosing by aircraft type alone, especially if you regularly move between different aircraft.

Bluetooth connectivity provides options for compatible phone calls, music and audio from aviation apps, with capabilities varying by headset. Compare each model’s audio controls, battery or panel-power requirements and included accessories to find a setup that fits your routine. Browse the Lightspeed headset range at Pilot Shop to choose an aviation headset suited to your aircraft, equipment and flying in New Zealand.
