Aviation Torches & Headlamps — Lighting for Pilots and Aviation Professionals

Reliable lighting is a fundamental part of aviation safety. Whether you're conducting a pre-flight inspection before dawn, reading approach plates during a night IFR flight, or troubleshooting an issue on the ramp after dark, the right torch or headlamp ensures you can see clearly and work safely. Pilot Shop stocks lighting solutions chosen specifically for aviation use — bright, durable, and dependable when it matters most.

Aviation Torches

A quality aviation torch delivers high lumen output in a compact, durable form factor that fits easily in a flight bag or pocket. Look for torches with multiple brightness modes — a high-output mode for pre-flight inspections and a lower mode for cockpit use that won't destroy your night vision. Red light modes are particularly valuable for night flying, preserving dark adaptation while still providing enough light to read charts and checklists.

Headlamps for Hands-Free Operation

A headlamp frees both hands for the task at hand — essential during pre-flight inspections, maintenance tasks, and any situation where you need light and dexterity at the same time. Modern aviation headlamps are lightweight, comfortable to wear over a headset or helmet, and offer the same multi-mode functionality as handheld torches. Rechargeable options eliminate the need to carry spare batteries on long trips.

Torch and Headlamp Accessories

Extend the capability of your lighting kit with the right accessories — spare batteries, charging cables, diffuser caps for area lighting, and mounting solutions for cockpit or helmet use. Keeping your torch charged and your batteries fresh is a simple but important part of flight preparation.
