The Downunder Pilot Shop was started as a mail order business by a young aviator in Cairns, Australia in 2001.

A year or so later the operation outgrew the garage in Cairns, due to the logistics of mail order it was decided to move across the Tasman to NZ.

The first retail shop was opened 2003 in Ahuriri, Napier with a second shop shortly after in Rosebury, Sydney which is now operated by Flight Experience and is located at 173-179 Broadway.

The Downunder Pilot Shop now has the largest range of aviation gear in Australasia with 1000's of products available online and in store. Most products are in stock and can be delivered within 1-2 days to most locations across Australia and New Zealand.
