The story of aircraft 70-0451

Serial number 70-0451 was the 65th of 81 C-5A aircraft produced. It entered service at Charleston Air Force Base in 1972 before moving to Travis Air Force Base, where it remained until 1992. Its service continued at Kelly Field Annex in Texas, with a career that included Operation Nickel Grass and support for Antarctic research.

When it retired in 2017, this Galaxy had accumulated 24,656.9 flight hours. In 2024, MotoArt and Travis AFB preserved a part of its story as PlaneTags, giving collectors a way to keep its service history close.
