Bring home a piece of TWA’s jumbo-jet legacy

Celebrate a memorable chapter of airline history with PlaneTags from TWA Boeing 747-100 N129TW. This limited release preserves a connection to an aircraft from the airline’s iconic jumbo-jet fleet, giving collectors a tangible reminder of the era when the “Queen of the Skies” transformed long-haul travel.

For former passengers, airline enthusiasts and Boeing collectors, it is a keepsake that brings together the heritage of Trans World Airlines and one of aviation’s most recognisable aircraft.

N129TW: a new chapter after the desert

N129TW spent decades at Pinal Airpark, where the retired aircraft remained in the desert. Before it was dismantled, MotoArt preserved material from this TWA 747 to create a limited run of PlaneTags.

The release gives part of this aviation giant a new life, allowing its story to continue in collections rather than disappear with the aircraft’s dismantling.

The airline and the aircraft that connected the world

Trans World Airlines operated from 1930 to 2001 and was one of the United States’ big four domestic airlines. Across its history, around 300 aircraft flew for TWA, including 37 Boeing 747s.

The Boeing 747-100 reshaped intercontinental flying in the 1970s. Its combination of size and range enabled airlines to carry more passengers over longer distances, improving operating economics and opening new possibilities for international travel.

Known as the “Plane that Shrank the World,” the 747 became closely associated with long-haul journeys and overseas holidays. N129TW represents that legacy in the colours and identity of TWA.
